Stay Connected and On Track Wherever You Go
Anytime you go off-road adventuring, even for a weekend, it is a smart bet to be prepared for anything, and one of our go to items for many a trip is the Garmin Montana 7001. Recently we bolted it to a KTM 450 and took it on a 3-day dual sport ride in Utah and it performed flawlessly as usual. While this unit is our hands down favorite for motorcycle adventures it is also easily mounted to your ATV, UTV, SUV or your truck for four wheel adventures. The compact water resistant unit features a bright 5" glove friendly screen that is as tough as it is functional with a very impressive rating of MIL-STD 810 for thermal, shock, water and vibration.

This tough construction allows it to take a beating and still keep you on the right path with a variety of pre-loaded maps and 16 GB of onboard memory and a microSD™ card slot so you have enough extra space to add custom maps to meet your needs.. Available options include everything from weather maps and satellite views to public land boundaries. Plus it comes with the pre-loaded Wikiloc Trails app that lets you download custom maps for hiking, biking and more. When it comes to power the unit features an impressive 18+ hours of battery life in GPS mode and for those longer expeditions you can use the Expedition Mode and get up to a week between charges using an ultra low power GPS reference program.

The Garmin Montana 7001 is much more than a navigation tool, it is also a device that can save your life in an emergency and serve as a vital tool to ensure your personal safety and security. Using In-Reach technology and an active satellite subscription the Garmin will keep you in touch with civilization no matter how far afield your adventures take you. The unit features Global Connectivity and an Interactive SOS service manned 24x7 by live professional emergency response coordinators and Two Way Messaging to let you communicate with loved ones back home. Speaking of loved ones back home they can follow along using your personal web-based MapShare™ trip-sharing page to see your GPS location and send you messages.

In addition to the advanced navigation and communications capabilities of the Garmin Montana 7001 the unit also come with three simple but very handy built in ABC sensors, A for an altimeter, B for a barometer and C for the 3 axis electronic compass.
Bottom line is if you are looking for a rugged GPS unit that can be mounted on or in any kind of vehicle and provide you with a solid and reliable bundle of navigation and communication functions you cannot go wrong with the Garmin Montana 7001.
